The theme for the 2019/20 Budget Speech is “Creating jobs, Transforming lives– Harnessing the “Big four” Plan”. This year’s theme has been set out on an ambitious Social Economic development plan as captured in the Big Four agenda, address the following challenges facing the economy;
Creating an enabling environment for businesses and in particular for the Micro, Small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
The need for prudent and efficiency in government spending
The need to mobilize domestic resources to fund priority projects and programs.
The need to reduce the fiscal deficit in order to stabilize and reduce debt
The need to implement reforms that will enhance efficiency and increase competitiveness
